PM Bolojan to meet Viktor Orbán in Budapest, ahead of visit to Austria

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will meet with his Hungarian counterpart Viktor Orbán in Budapest on Wednesday.According to the schedule announced by the Government's Press Office, the meeting with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will take place at the headquarters of the Government of Hungary at 11:30 local time.After the meeting in Budapest, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will leave for Vienna, where at 18:00 local time he will attend the reception held on the occasion of Romania's National Day at the headquarters of Romania's Embassy in Vienna.The event will be attended by representatives of the Romanian community in Austria, among the guests being Christian Stocker, the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria, and Claudia Plakolm, the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Family in the Federal Chancellery of the Republic of Austria.According to a Government press release, Prime Minister Bolojan will be accompanied by Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan, Foreign Minister Oana Toiu, Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery Mihai Jurca and State Secretary Dragos Hotea.Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's visit to Austria will continue on Thursday. The agenda includes head-to-head discussions, talks between the full delegations as well as a working lunch offered by the Austrian Chancellor.'The main objective of the visit is to strengthen bilateral relations both politically and diplomatically as well as economically and to ensure closer coordination at regional and European level given the current challenges in our region. Cooperation in the economic sector will also target other areas with potential for increased investment in both markets,' the Government's press release reads.   An important point on the agenda of the official visit that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will pay to Austria, in Vienna, is the discussion with the head of the Austrian Government, Chancellor Christian Stocker, on projects regarding interconnection in the energy sector, Government Spokesperson Ioana Dogioiu said.She was asked what the objectives will be for the visit which the Prime Minister is to pay to Austria, in Vienna, this week."It is about reviving the bilateral economic relations. And a very important point will be the interconnection in the energy sector, which will be an important element on the agenda," Ioana Dogioiu told a press conference on Tuesday held at the Victoria Palace.According to a Government press announcement, on Thursday, 4 December, Romania's Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan will pay an official visit to Vienna, where he will be welcomed by Austria's Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker.After their working meeting, press statements of the two heads of Government are scheduled.
