PM Bolojan:Constitutional Court's decisions allow us to implement reforms of state-owned companies and of healthcare system

October 30, 2025

Wednesday's decisions of the Constitutional Court (CCR) allow the implementation of two more important reforms - that of state-owned companies and that of the health system, for which the Government has undertaken its responsibility through the 2nd Package of reforms, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said."These two decisions are added to last month's decision of the CCR regarding the law on self-financed authorities, so that three of the five normative acts in Package 2 have already passed the constitutionality test. The three mentioned laws allow us to reduce unnecessary positions, cap allowances and establish performance indicators in state-owned companies, cut excessive salaries and co-payments in self-financed public authorities and bring increased efficiency to public healthcare", Ilie Bolojan wrote in a post on his Facebook account.According to him, "we need a fair state, which does not make fun of public money and offers decent services in exchange for the taxes it collects"."It is not easy to change wrong patterns formed over the years, but every day we make efforts to put things right", the prime minister pointed out.The Constitutional Court of Romania rejected on Wednesday the complaints filed by the AUR, S.O.S. and POT parties against the Law for amending and supplementing Government Emergency Ordinance 109/2011 on the corporate governance of public enterprises, CCR officials said. Also on Wednesday, the Constitutional Court of Romania rejected the complaints filed by the AUR, S.O.S. and POT parties related to the Law for amending and supplementing certain normative acts and for establishing certain measures in the healthcare sector.
