PM Ciolacu meets representatives of OMV Petrom, discusses Neptun Deep gas exploitation project

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu on Tuesday had a meeting at the Victoria Palace with the OMV Petrom delegation led by Alfred Stern, CEO of OMV, during which they discussed the current status of the gas exploitation at the Black Sea - Neptun Deep, as well as about other investment projects in the field of energy, according to a press release of the Government."The close collaboration between the government authorities, OMV Petrom and Romgaz makes Neptun Deep move forward according to the schedule. The government will continue to firmly support this project, considering the benefits brought to Romania and the Romanians. In the amount of 4 billion euros, this investment will ensure the necessary energy for the citizens and the national economy and will make Romania an important player on the European market," said prime minister Marcel Ciolacu, quoted in the press release.Deputy PM Marian Neacsu, the head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Alexandru Ghigiu, the president of the National Regulatory Authority in the Mining, Oil and Geological Storage of Carbon Dioxide, Adriana Petcu also participated in the meeting.On behalf of OMV, Alfred Stern, CEO of the OMV supervisory board, Cristina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom, and Alexandru Maximescu, vice-president of OMV Petrom, were present at the meeting.
