PM Ciuca reiterates Romania's commitment to advancing European agenda at meeting with French Ambassador Laurence Auer

 Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca welcomed on Tuesday, at Victoria Palace of Government, the Ambassador of the French Republic in Bucharest, Laurence Auer, in the context of France holding for six months the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, reiterating during discussions Romania's commitment to advancing, in a consensual spirit, the European agenda.According to a Government press release, the topics of the meeting focused on the close and dynamic cooperation between the two sides in the context of advancing the European agenda and on the solid partnership and priorities at the level of the bilateral relationship. The security situation in the Eastern Neighborhood was also assessed."Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciuca reiterated Romania's commitment to advancing, in a consensual spirit, the European agenda and gave assurances regarding the active support of our country in fulfilling the ambitious objectives included in the work programme and the priorities of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU. He reiterated Romania's interest in a pragmatic outcome of the Conference on the Future of Europe, aimed at action and concrete recommendations," the release said.At the same time, the head of Government underlined the substantial character and the amplified potential of the bilateral cooperation on multiple levels, in line with the Romania-France Strategic Partnership and the Roadmap."He noted the rising and particularly encouraging level of Romanian-French trade. The Prime Minister noted the importance of a favorable decision to start talks on Romania's accession to the OECD and called for France's support in this regard," the release further shows.
