PPC completes acquisition of Lukoil’s 84 MW wind park

April 25, 2024

The Greek group PPC, which bought Enel Romania last year, completed the acquisition of the 84 MW wind farm owned by Lukoil in our country. PPC plans to commission 1,300 MW of renewable capacity in Romania in just three years.   PPC announces that it has completed, through its subsidiary PPC PPC Renewables, and after fulfilling the usual preconditions for such transactions set out in the previously signed agreement, the acquisition from the European subsidiaries of the Lukoil Group, of a 100% stake in Land Power S.R.L. , which operates a wind farm in Romania with a total installed capacity of 84 MW, according to a company press release.   The wind farm is located in the towns of Dorobantu and Topolog, Tulcea, in a region in Romania with the best wind conditions and generates more than 200 GWh of electricity per year.   The transaction was carried out through a competitive process, with the participation of international companies, during which PPC Renewables was selected as the preferred bidder. Kommunalkredit Austria AG acted as exclusive financial advisor to the buyer and CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP SCP and Milbank LLP acted as counsel to PPC Renewables.   The renewable energy production capacities of the PPC group, which took over Enel’s business in Romania last year, will reach a level of almost 2 GW in Romania, as a result of the increase in investments to unprecedented levels, according to the plan announced by PPC in month January.
