President Nicusor Dan, received, on Monday, at the Cotroceni Palace, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Woo Won-shik, who is on an official visit to Romania, informs the Presidential Administration.During the meeting, the cited source indicates, the President of Romania and the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea highlighted the excellent dynamics of the bilateral dialogue, in the context of the adoption last year of the Joint Declaration on the consolidation of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the Republic of Korea and the celebration of 35 years of bilateral relations.The two high officials expressed appreciation for the depth of the bilateral relationship, in political, economic and cultural terms. The very good cooperation was highlighted, and especially the development prospects in the fields of defense, energy and infrastructure.President Nicusor Dan emphasized the interest in increasing South Korean investments in Romanian defense, civil nuclear energy - Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant, SMR - renewable energy, infrastructure projects, such as cooperation between the ports of Constanta and Busan, and the fields of IT&C and new technologies.Both sides expressed their wish to expand cooperation and dialogue in the fields of culture, education, tourism and people-to-people contacts.In turn, the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea showed this visit has a special significance, given both this year's anniversary and the potential for developing the strategic partnership. The high-ranking Korean official emphasized the investment interest of South Korean companies in Romania and reconfirmed support for Romania's accession to the OECD.The agenda of the discussions also included the security situation given by Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and the involvement of North Korea in support of Russia, with global implications. Both sides expressed support for Ukraine and the efforts to reach a lasting peace.
