President Dan met European Council President Costa

Romania's President Nicusor Dan on Thursday met President of the European Council Antonio Costa on the first day of a European summit."Delighted to start my participation at EUCO with an exchange of views with President Antonio Costa on the main topics of today's summit. I reassured President Costa on Romania's commitment to work with EU institutions and member states for a stronger, safer and more competitive EU," Dan wrote in a social media post.At the same time, he added that, at Romania's request, the European Council will reaffirm the EU's support for Moldova ahead of an EU-Moldova summit and will welcome the adoption of the EU-Black Sea strategy."On European security and defense, Romania is ready to be part of the EU initiatives in order to consolidate our European defense industry. We will also continue our support for Ukraine amidst a challenging international context and discuss the current situation in the Middle East. EU's competitiveness and its role as a reliable global actor will be addressed," Dan wrote in a separate social media post.Dan participates on Thursday and Friday in the European Council meeting that takes place in Brussels, Belgium.  (Photo:https://www.presidency.ro/)
