President-elect Dan meets EP president Metsola in Bucharest: Romania needs all the support it can get

President-elect Nicusor Dan had an informal discussion on Wednesday evening with the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, who is currently paying a visit to Romania."I had an informal discussion with the president of the European Parliament. Romania needs all the support it can get in the coming period," wrote Nicusor Dan, on the X network.    European Parliament President Roberta Metsola posted a message on X platform on Wednesday night after the informal meeting she had on Wednesday evening with Romania's President-elect Nicusor Dan."Together in Bucharest. Together for Europe. Together for Romania," Metsola wrote in English and Romanian, alongside a photograph of her and Nicusor Dan shaking hands.The head of the European legislature began a two-day visit to Romania on Wednesday.According to the official programme announced on the website of the European Parliament Multimedia Centre, on Thursday Roberta Metsola will be in Timisoara, at the invitation of mayor Dominic Fritz, to receive the "Timisoara for European Values" Award.Roberta Metsola and Dominic Fritz will have a dialogue with 800 pupils and students from Timisoara and the region about Europe and current challenges.The "Timisoara for European Values" Award, now in its second edition, is awarded to international personalities who actively support the fundamental values of Europe.Roberta Metsola was appreciated for "her firm leadership in times of crisis, her unconditional support for Ukraine and Moldova and her continuous efforts for Romania's accession to the Schengen Area."The "Timisoara for European Values" Award also comes with a cash prize of 30,000 euros.
