President Klaus Iohannis was hospitalized on Thursday at the “Dr. Carol Davila” Central Military Emergency Teaching Hospital for surgery on his left shoulder, the intervention having been performed according to the medical protocol, with very good results, the Presidential Administration informs. “The president of Romania is medically able to fulfill the duties of his office, his state of health being optimal,” reads a statement of the Presidential Administration. The “Dr. Carol Davila” Central Military Emergency Teaching University Hospital informs that the head of state suffered a minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder. “Today, 25 October, the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Werner Iohannis, was admitted to the ‘Dr. Carol Davila’ Central Military Emergency Teaching Hospital for undergoing a minimally invasive arthroscopic intervention on his left shoulder. The patient is undergoing anti-pain, anti-inflammatory and wide-spectrum antibiotic therapy, starting this evening the post-surgery physical recovery procedures, according to the protocol applied in such surgical treatment,” a release from the hospital informs. On 26 April, 2016, President Iohannis was hospitalized at the same hospital and operated on his right shoulder. The surgery took place with no problems. The next day, the head of state was released from hospital and resumed his activity.
