President Iohannis lays wreath in memory of 1989 Revolution victims

President Klaus Iohannis on Tuesday morning laid a wreath of flowers at the Roadside Cross in University Square in the memory of the 1989 Revolution victims, and he also held a moment of silence.The President was accompanied by presidential advisers Ion Oprisor, Daniela Barsan and Delia Dinu and state adviser Catalina Galer."Let us always keep alive the memory of the heroes of the December 1989 Revolution!," President Iohannis wrote on Facebook.    December 21 is considered the first day of the Revolution in Bucharest, when demonstrators gathered near the Intercontinental Hotel in University Square and erected a barricade in front of the intervention device.   In December 1989, the communist regime in Romania fell as a result of the revolution that began in Timisoara and continued in Bucharest.
