President Iohannis: We want to increase the transit capacity for Ukrainian grains of 2 tonnes per months

Over two million tonnes of Ukrainian grains transit Romania per month, President Klaus Iohannis said on Thursday, adding that he cannot guarantee the target of four million tonnes for the end of the year.The head of state is currently participating in the Summit of the European Political Community."As regards the transit of agricultural products [from Ukraine, editor's note] we are now at a transit capacity of just over two million tonnes per month and we really have the ambition to increase. I cannot guarantee that we will increase to four, but that's what we want, so that by the end of the year we will reach around four million tonnes of grain, usually per month. These issues, in my opinion, are very important, obviously for Ukraine, for the Ukrainian economy, but we also need to think about those who receive these agricultural products. Many are destined for states that depend on these agricultural products, countries that usually depend on Ukrainian wheat," he pointed out.
