President Iohhanis participates at the opening of the COP 21 in Paris

President Klaus Iohannis will participate on Monday, November 30, in 21st the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) at the Framework Convention of the UN on Climate Change, which will take place in Paris, the Presidential Administration announced on Sunday. The opening of the COP 21 will be attended by heads of state and government from more than 145 countries. The main goal of the conference, which will be held in Paris November 30 to December 11, is the adoption of a new international agreement on climate change to be binding legally and applicable to all states as of January 1, 2021. The new international agreement on climate change will incorporate a set of ambitious and mandatory rules on quantifiable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and which will be in line with the latest scientific and technological discoveries, the said release also mentions.
