We respect each person's vote, as it reflects his or her beliefs, convictions and choice and is a manifestation of a democratic right enshrined in law. Therefore, we urge all Romanian citizens to exercise their right to vote freely, peacefully and responsibly, for the good of the Romanian people', reads the statement issued by the Patriarchate of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
