PresidentialElection2025/ Electoral period kicks off on February 18

The electoral period for the presidential election begins on February 18, with the first round of voting to take place on May 4, and the second on May 18.The Central Electoral Bureau is established on February 20, candidacies can be submitted until March 15, and the electoral campaign begins on April 4 and ends on May 3, according to the decision regarding the presidential election calendar, published in the Official Journal.The main milestones of the electoral period, according to the calendar approved by the Government, are:* no later than February 23 - submission to the Central Electoral Bureau of the protocol for the establishment of electoral alliances;* no later than March 15, political parties, political or electoral alliances, organizations of citizens belonging to national minorities and independent candidates may submit their candidacies;* the electoral campaign begins on April 4 and ends on May 3, at 7.00 am;* May 2, from 7,00 am (local time) - 9.00 pm (local time) - the first day of voting abroad;* May 3, between 7,00 am (local time) - 9.00 pm (local time) - the second day of voting abroad;* May 4 - the third day of voting in the diaspora; between 7,00 am (local time) - 9.00 pm (local time);* May 4, at 7.00 am, voting begins in the country, with the polling stations to be open until 9.00 pm.* May 8 - the CCR validates the elections, and the result will be published in the Official GazetteIn the event of a second round, the electoral campaign will begin on May 9 and end on May 17, at 7.00 am.
