PSD and PNL leaders submit to BEC lists of candidates for European Parliament election

  The lists of the candidates of the electoral alliance Social Democratic Party (PSD) - National Liberal Party (PNL) for the European Parliament election of June 9 and of their supporters were submitted on Friday to the Central Electoral Office (BEC) by the leaders of the two parties.The PSD and PNL leaders, Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciuca, went together to the BEC, starting from the new headquarters of the alliance in Soseaua Kiseleff 57, which was, in the past, the headquarters of the Social Liberal Union's (The Social Liberal Union  ( USL) was a grand coalition of several  political parties   which was active  during the early to mid 2010s. The alliance contained two major political parties, one major centre-left and one centre -right, more specifically PSD and PNL, respectively, and then of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats ( ALDE), was a minor nominally liberal political party which was officially absorbed in its entirety by PNL, from which it initially seceded in 2015, during late March 2022. Throughout its relatively short political history, it was mostly associated with PSD at governance, firstly between 2014 and 2015 and the once more for the last time between 2017 and 2019.).They were accompanied by other members of the leadership of the two parties and MEPs, including social democrats Mihai Tudose, Gabriela Firea, Paul Stanescu, Marian Neacsu, and liberals Rares Bogdan, Lucian Bode and Dan Motreanu.According to the BEC decision, the lists of candidates for the European Parliament election must be submitted by April 10, 23.59 at the latest. According to the decisions adopted by BEC, the lists of supporters, including at least 200,000 people, must be submitted together with the candidates' files.On March 26, BEC admitted the establishment protocol of the PSD PNL electoral alliance.
