Retele Electrice Romania, part of PPC group of companies in Romania, launched on the electronic public procurement platform SEAP a public tender with an estimated value above 132 million lei (without VAT), for the acquisition of 24 kV prefabricated equipment for secondary substations, which will be used in investment projects carried out in the period 2025 – 2026.   „Through this procurement procedure we aim to modernize and develop the electricity distribution infrastructure – an essential step to increase the resilience and reliability of the network to adapt to climate change and especially to the consumption and connection needs of our customers, whether they are consumers, prosumers or producers. This equipment will contribute significantly to the strategic objective of providing a more efficient, flexible distribution service adapted to the current and future requirements of society, in a context of rapid urbanization, the reversal of energy flows in the network due to the rapid expansion of decentralized energy production. We want a resilient infrastructure, capable of responding at any time to the current needs and challenges of the energy market”, said Mihai Peste, General Director of Retele Electrice Romania.   In this context, the company plans to purchase medium voltage compact cells for secondary substations, with load separator, as well as monobloc cells of medium voltage, without SF6, equipped with void switch and load separator. This equipment will replace the old installations, contributing to the modernization of the network, improving the performance of the distribution network and reducing the number of maintenance interventions, in accordance with quality standards in electricity distribution.   The contract will have a validity period of 3 years. To encourage sustainable practices, the company included specific criteria in the selection process. Bidders demonstrating the use of recyclable packaging will benefit from an additional score in the evaluation of the technical offers. This aspect emphasizes the company's concern for environmental protection and implementing green solutions in the supply chain.   Retele Electrice Romania continues its investment plan in 2025 for its area of responsibility, with the objective of creating a modern electricity distribution, digital and ready to offer to it’s customers solutions adapted to new realities of the energy transition.
