Retele Electrice Romania launches auction of up to 180 million RON for connection works

Retele Electrice Romania launched on the electronic public procurement platform SEAP a public auction with a maximum value of approximately 180 million RON, excluding VAT, for the performance of customer connection works to the distribution networks managed by the company.According to a press release, contractors will receive orders to build medium and low voltage electrical installations, as a result of connection requests from users."The works in question involve connecting new consumption and/or production sites to the network, modifying existing connection installations, as well as clearing sites affected by the electrical infrastructure," the press release reads.The project also includes extensions of the Romanian Electric Networks installations, the construction of medium and low voltage overhead and underground power lines, the construction of overhead connections and transformer stations, the construction of substations and power points in civil or independent buildings, works on the medium voltage bars of IT/MT transformer stations, as well as the restoration of public areas that will be affected by these interventions.The duration of the contract is 60 months, and the deadline for submitting bids is May 28, 2025."Retele Electrice Romania assumes responsibility for environmental protection by applying a certified management system, which aims to reduce the impact of activities on the environment. The company responsibly manages waste resulting from the electricity distribution activity, respecting the legislation in force and its own integrated system, ensuring their reuse, recovery or disposal through authorized economic operators," the press release further states.The Romanian Electricity Networks Company operates networks with a total length of approximately 134,000 kilometers in three important areas of the country: South Muntenia (including Bucharest), Banat and Dobrogea, covering one third of the local distribution market, and is developing an investment program to improve the quality of services, the safety and performance of the networks and the local implementation of the environmental standards of the PPC group. The electricity networks operated by the company number 289 transformer stations and over 25,000 transformer stations.
