Romania will participate in the Festival du Livre de Paris, the most important French and French-speaking event in the field of publishing, with writer and journalist Matei Visniec, art historian Doina Lemny and journalist, translator and writer Laure Hinckel among the guests of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), the institute said in a releaseThis year too, the Romanian participation is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute through the National Book Center (CENNAC) and ICR Paris in partnership with the Romanian Embassy in Paris and the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Paris.Under the motto "Roumanie - ses voix, ses aeuvres. Voyage dans la litterature roumaine", the Romanian presence at the current edition of the Festival du Livre de Paris taking place April 11 - 13 is an invitation to the audiences to discover recent voices and works from contemporary Romanian literature.The most recent French-language editions of volumes signed by Romanian writers, from fiction and poetry to art and photo albums will be available for purchase at the Romanian stand."Thanks to the partnership with Tschann Librairies, which will ensure sales at the stand, and with the distributor Libris, which will provide the books in Romanian, the visitors will be able to choose from 52 titles by Romanian authors translated into French and put out by 37 publishing houses from France and Switzerland, and 23 titles in Romanian issued by 13 publishers," ICR specifies.The Romanian stand will also host no less than 18 autograph sessions with the guest authors Victor Ieronim Stoichita, Alexandru Vakulovski, Moni Stanila, Matei Visniec, Laure Hinckel, Cristian Fulas, Adrian Voicu, Christiane Chaule-Balducci, David Chapon, Linda Maria Baros, Muriel Augry, Marta Caraion, Doina Lemny, Alina Serban, Traian Sandu, Sylvain Audet-Gainar, Anne-Sophie Lacombe, Anca Visdei.The events dedicated to showcasing the most recent Romanian volumes translated into French will take place on the main stages of the festival, at the invitation of the organizer Paris Livres Evenements, but also in hors les murs venues, thanks to the partnerships with the Embassy of Moldova in Paris, the Embassy of Romania in Paris, and at the headquarters of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Paris.Continuing the Salon du Livre, a project initiated in 1981, the Festival du Livre de Paris is the largest event dedicated to the French-speaking publishing space. Starting this year, the festival will take place at the Grand Palais, with Morocco as the honorary guest of this edition.
