Romania-Coreea, bilateral meeting for Healthcare Cooperation

A delegation led by Romania's Health Minister Rafila is on an official visit to Korea to attend the opening of the 15th Global Healthcare & Medical Tourism Conference, together with South-Korea's Deputy Minister of Health Jung Yoon-soon.The theme of the event - "AI-Powered Personalised Healthcare: Integrating into Our Daily Lives." - is also very topical for Romania, Rafila said in a social media post on Friday.In his speech, Rafila mentioned that the areas of collaboration between Romania and South Korea include good practices in the digital transformation of hospitals, investment opportunities in the pharmaceutical field and medical equipment, telemedicine, as well as the improvement of medical expertise through academic collaborations.The minister also had a bilateral meeting with Korea's Minister of Health and Welfare Cho KyooHong, and Deputy Minister Jung Yoon-soon, touching on developing healthcare cooperation ties between Romania and South Korea.During the visit, Rafila also attended the signing of a memorandum of collaboration between the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures and Korea University Guro Hospital, a document initialled by the rector of the university, Leonard Azamfirei, and his Korean counterparts.This memorandum sets out the principles for the development of the first SMART hospital in Targu Mures, an innovative project in the field of digital health.At the same time, the Romanian delegation visited the Severance Hospital, fully digitised and robotised, with which there will soon be exchanges of specialists and training activities.
