Romania, the first commercial partner of the Republic of Moldova : commercial exchanges surpassed 2.4  billion dollars in 2021

Romania is the fist trade partner of the Republic of Moldova at the end of 2021 being registered a record value of 2.4 billion dollars out of which the Romanian exports had 1.5 billion dollars, show the data of the ministry of entrepreneurship and tourism (MAT).At the same time, Romania is first according to the number of companies registered in the Republic of Moldova, namely 1,557 and second according to the value of the capital,with almost 280 million dollars, and the banking sector dominates with a value of 78 million dollars.On 17th May, the ministry of entrepreneurship and tourism through the Department for Foreign Trade and the Bureau of Commercial – Economic Promotion Kishinev, in collaboration with the Association of Romanian Investors in the Republic of Moldova organized the Economic Forum Romania- Republic of Moldova, event dedicated to the promotion of bilateral trade, tourism and investment sector. The head of the Romanian delegation, Angel-Iulian Calin, state secretary in MAT mentioned during the forum in Kishinev that by the implementation of the provisions of the Agreement regarding non-refundable aid offered to the Republic of Moldova, worth 100 million euro, the business environment in this country has the possibility to draw financing including in the domain of SMEs and tourism, sectors of interest for the Moldova economy, as well as the consolidation of bilateral cooperation with partners from Romania, showing that the ministry is programme operator in the agreement for these two domains.   The Economic Forum in Kishinev was attended by over 100 companies in Romania and the Republic of Moldova in such domains at IT, textile industry, manufacturing industry, pharma and tourism which had the possibility in  B2B sessions to identify new business opportunities.The  MAT data show that the number of mixed companies with Moldova capital registered in Romania are 6,644 with a total invested capital of 62.6 million dollars, being 64 in the top of foreign investors in Romania.In 2021, there were 60 such companies set up with a capital of 0.9 million dollars.
