Romanian-Bosnian joint venture to build the longest section Unirii Motorway, Ditrau-Grinties lot

A Romanian-Bosnian joint venture will build the longest section of the 37.9-kilometer A8 motorway, also called Unirii (the Union) Motorway, namely the Ditrau-Grinties lot, Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu announced on last Thursday."Today we signed the contract for the construction of a new lot of the mountain section of the A8 (Unirii Motorway). The Ditrau-Grinties lot (37.9 km), the longest of this motorway, will be built by a Romanian-Bosnian joint venture. The contract for the design and execution of the Ditrau-Grinties motorway is the first signed by CNIR [the National Road Infrastructure Management Corporation] since the establishment of this new company," the minister said at a press conference.The new motorway lot, financed under the Transport Program (P.T.) 2021-2027, worth 6.14 billion RON (excluding VAT), should be completed in 54 months (14 months allocated for the design and 40 months allocated for the execution phase of works).The route will include 63 underpasses and 19 tunnels, structures whose total length represents 57% of the entire length of the entire lot.
