The ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest on Thursday was summoned to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be informed of Romania's position of condemnation of the violation of the Polish airspace by Russian drones, during the night of 9 to 10 September.''By order of the minister of foreign affairs, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest was summoned today, September 11, 2025, to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be informed of Romania's position of firm condemnation of the violation of the Polish airspace by Russian drones, during the night of 9 to 10 September 2025. The Romanian side stressed that, by gravity, implications and scope, the respective incident represents an unprecedented escalation, as well as a threat to the security of the citizens of an Allied state and strategic partner of Romania. This incident illustrates once again the wide-ranging, severe consequences of the war of aggression started by the Russian Federation against Ukraine on regional stability and European security," a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded the Russian side of the previous attacks by Russian forces against Ukrainian targets, in the vicinity of the border with Romania."The irresponsible nature of these attacks, which affect national security and stability in the wider Black Sea region and the imperative of respecting sovereignty and international law at the mouths of the Danube, was emphasised again," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.
