SEESOF 2025: The first major defense event in Romania held outside the capital

June 12, 2025

On June 4–5, the city of Targu Mures will host SEESOF 2025 – Southeast Europe Special Operations Forces Forum, the first event in Romania dedicated exclusively to Special Operations Forces (SOF) and the largest defense exhibition organized outside the capital.   Held at the “George Emil Palade” University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology (UMFST), the two-day event will bring together elite military representatives from over 20 countries, more than 100 defense industry companies, security experts, government officials, and academic leaders. Over 50 foreign military delegates from SOF and equivalent structures and more than 3,000 participants from around the world are expected in Transylvania, for a format that combines high-level conferences with a cutting-edge technology exhibition.   Among the high-profile attendees is General Bryan P. Fenton, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), one of the most influential military leaders in the global SOF community.   The SEESOF exhibition will showcase state-of-the-art equipment designed not only for special operations forces but also for other components of the national defense, public order, and homeland security systems, presented by top-tier defense companies.   A key objective of the event is to connect the Romanian defense industry to global opportunities. Local companies will have the chance to engage directly with major international manufacturers, explore emerging technologies, and build strategic partnerships. Attendees will include providers of advanced solutions for communications, mobility, surveillance, logistics, personal protection, and cybersecurity—directly applicable to SOF missions. SEESOF is organized by TNT Productions Romania, with the support of the Ministry of National Defense, in partnership with UMFST Targu Mures, the Prefecture of Mures County, the Mures County Council, and the Targu Mures City Hall.   The launch of SEESOF adds a new dimension to the defense event ecosystem built over the past 18 years by TNT Productions Romania, the organizer of BSDA – Black Sea Defense and Aerospace, the largest defense exhibition in the Black Sea region.   While BSDA provides a comprehensive overview of military technologies across all five operational domains, SEESOF puts a spotlight on the advanced capabilities of Special Operations Forces, one of the most complex military structures in terms of mission profile.   The event will take place at UMFST headquarters, 38 Gh. Marinescu Street, Targu Mures. Attendance is free of charge, based on prior registration.
