The reform of public administration, the state budget law, the regulation of femicide, and the draft of the new National Defense Law are among the priorities of the ordinary parliamentary session that began on Monday, Senate President Mircea Abrudean said."We are starting a new parliamentary session and we have several clear priorities for Romania. Public administration reform - a reform that no one has had the courage to undertake in recent decades - together with economic relaxation measures, will generate more competitiveness and investment. The state budget law remains the absolute priority. We need a balanced and realistic budget that provides economic stability and supports essential areas for citizens. Also in this session, we will focus on other fundamental projects for Romania, and I would highlight here, given the regional context and beyond, the draft of the new National Defense Law," Abrudean said in a video message posted on Facebook.He added that another priority is the regulation of femicide, a bill adopted on Monday by the Senate, which "will represent an important step for the protection of women"."In parallel, our national goal of joining the OECD remains a major direction of action, and completing this process will strengthen the confidence of international partners and accelerate Romania's institutional modernization," Abrudean added.
