SIGNAL IDUNA celebrates 15 years in the Romanian insurance market

November 21, 2023

SIGNAL IDUNA is celebrating 15 years of success in the Romanian market, marking a significant milestone in the company's evolution by repositioning itself as an insurer offering insurance solutions suitable for any of the needs of Romanians.   From the early years of its operations, the company has focused on digitization and innovation, demonstrated by its successful mission to become the leader in the Romanian health insurance market and by the numerous products and services it has developed.   Over these 15 years, SIGNAL IDUNA has been able to meet the needs of policyholders by developing simple and appropriate solutions for exceptional situations that have characterized the recent period. Among these, we can mention the full digitization of health products dedicated to the retail segment, the implementation of the Signal Care Assistant application as a tool for using insurance, telemedicine, and wellbeing products, the Easy Pay system, which allows access to any private medical clinic, and the implementation of investment plans as a savings instrument.   SIGNAL IDUNA has strengthened its position in the Romanian market following the acquisition of ERGO companies present in the country, thus expanding its portfolio of products, services, and customers. This step was the result of a strategic decision to invest in the local market, diversifying the business model.   In the future, the company's efforts will focus on consolidating its diverse portfolio of insurance products, which now includes not only health, life, and accident insurance but also travel, property, and liability insurance. For the coming period, SIGNAL IDUNA's plans remain just as ambitious, with a strong emphasis on innovation, particularly in digitization. The company is investing in solutions tailored to the expectations of customers, and partners who increasingly seek simplified access to insurance, from anywhere and at any time.   "We are celebrating the first 15 years of SIGNAL IDUNA's activity in Romania with solid growth, reflected in the consistently excellent results year after year and our constant commitment to policyholders. We will continue to rely on the expertise we have built and have confidence that we will evolve sustainably in all lines of business. SIGNAL IDUNA's success is also that of its customers and partners, with whom we have experienced numerous challenges and achievements, with the results confirming our continuous adaptation to change. We have evolved together, and I would like to thank everyone for the trust they have placed in us", declares Tiberiu Maier, President of SIGNAL IDUNA ASIGURARE REASIGURARE Management Board and President of SIGNAL IDUNA ASIGURARI Board of Administration.   SIGNAL IDUNA began its operations as a greenfield operation, and its achievements so far are primarily attributed to the team of over 300 specialists who currently support and develop the current business model.   "We are proud to have a dedicated, professional, and united team that provides the best insurance solutions to our customers. In a constantly changing world, adaptation and innovation have been essential to meet the market's needs and provide high-quality services", mentioned Tiberiu Maier.   On the occasion of its 15th anniversary in Romania, the company is launching a campaign that supports its defining values - performance and community involvement. "We prioritize performance. Driven by results, we go far!" is the initiative aimed at supporting young talents with the ambition to excel in sports but who face financial difficulties.   Through the Inimi Visinii Association and the Rapid Bucharest Women's Handball Club, SIGNAL IDUNA offers 5 scholarships worth 1,000 lei per month for 1 year to children with limited financial means who have talent and a passion for sports. Young athletes need big supporters, so they invite all Romanians to join the cause to gather at least 15,000 enthusiastic supporters. Upon reaching this threshold, SIGNAL IDUNA will double the number of scholarships awarded.   ***   About SIGNAL IDUNA The SIGNAL IDUNA Group is one of the largest financial groups in Germany.
