Special Representative of the Secretary General on Migration and Refugees starts today a visit to Romania

According to a press release sent by the CoE on Friday, special Representative of the Secretary General on Migration and Refugees Leyla Kayacik (SRSG) will visit the country in order to determine the situation of  vulnerable people who continue to flee Ukraine and explore possibilities for the Council of Europe to provide support to the authorities in coping with the challenges they are faced with.   Meetings will be scheduled with the relevant ministries, with the People’s Advocate of Romania, with representatives of International Organisations and NGOs. The Special Representative will also visit registration and reception centres.   "A report of the information mission will be published at the beginning of 2023", adds the statement, which also states that the Special Representative of the Secretary General for Migration and Refugees published in 2022 four reports of information missions, about Slovakia , the Czech Republic, Poland and the Republic of Moldova.
