Startups from 20 countries have applied to Advancing AI #4, Techcelerator's accelerator program for entrepreneurs in Southeast Europe developing products using Artificial Intelligence

May 26, 2024

Techcelerator and Google for Startups have selected nine startups in Advancing AI, an accelerator program for startups in the region that create products based on AI (Artificial Intelligence) solutions. The programme supports companies' growth efforts and stimulates the development of the ecosystem in the region, with the selected startups coming from Romania, Poland, Serbia and Turkey.

The nine startups were chosen from 130 applications from over 20 countries.

The Advancing AI #4 accelerator programme runs for ten weeks and will end at the end of May, after which the startups will enter the post programme.

The global market for Artificial Intelligence solutions is estimated to reach $184 billion this year and around $827 billion in 2030, growing about 28.5% annually, according to Statista data.

"Artificial Intelligence solutions will be most commonly used in healthcare in the future (15.7% of the market value), especially for disease diagnosis, drug development and personalized medicine. Other areas where we will increasingly see AI solutions are in the enterprise software area such as finance and cybersecurity, manufacturing, business & legal, retail and logistics, green energy and new materials generation. We see these international trends also in the fourth edition of AdvancingAI, where a third of the finalist startups are from the healthcare area and a significant part from the cybersecurity segment, two of the areas where people need innovation the most", said Cristian Dascălu, Managing Partner Techcelerator.

Techcelerator, together with its partners, will showcase the best teams at the biannual Investors Day event on May 27th at BT Stup (Calea Șerban Vodă 206 - 218, Bucharest).

Investors and speakers at the event include representatives from organisations such as GapMinder VC, Techangels Romania, Bravva Angels, Notion, LaunchHub, West Regional Development Agency, SeedBlink, North-West Regional Development Agency, Startup Moldova, PortfoLion, European Investment Fund, Credo, Early Game Ventures.
