Support for Ukraine, highlighted by formin Odobescu in a phone conversation with Japanese counterpart

 Foreign Affairs minister Luminita Odobescu had a phone conversation on Monday with her Japanese counterpart, Yoko Kamikawa, in the context of celebrating one year since the signing of the Joint Declaration establishing the Strategic Partnership between Romania and Japan, a MAE press release sent on Monday, reads.The two ministers highlighted "Romania's and Japan's firm support for Ukraine and each country's contribution to the effort to mitigate the multiple negative effects of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, including on its neighbours."Odobescu and Kamikawa expressed appreciation for the role of Romania and Japan in ensuring regional security and for the intense diplomatic efforts they make.Both ministers expressed openness to implement the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, given their interest in strengthening the role of women in international politics. They also expressed satisfaction for the prospects of strengthening the Romanian-Japanese bilateral cooperation and for the consistent progress made, stressing the importance of intensifying cooperation in regional formats in which Romania has an active profile, such as the Three Seas Initiative.
