Survey: High optimism: 74% of Romanians think they would find job in less than 3 months

December 15, 2021

The Romanians' optimism is now at high rates, as 74% think they would find a job in less than 3 months, according to a survey made by eJobs Romania, a recruiting company.   The candidates' confidence in their own forces is pointed out not only by their optimism, but by their firmness in making compromises for a better job. Thus, 46% of them would not make any concessions: they would not accept lower wages, would not relocate for a better professional opportunity and would not take into account a job far from home. However, 31% of candidates would have a professional reconversion if they found a job with better prospects, 13% would even accept a lower salary if the new job was closer to home and 10% would be willing to move to another home.   “While last year I saw a lot of fear and uncertainty among candidates, 2021 is not only the year of return for the labor market, but also the year when they got courage again and the return to self confidence. We are at a point where job change has become an option again, not constraint as it was last year, people without any choice had to look for another job,” said Raluca Dumitra, Head of Marketing at eJobs Romania.   Feedback remains an important coordinate for candidates: 58% of them want to get an answer after talking to the employer, even if it is a negative one.27% say they do not like to get cliché  questions or to be asked about their personal life at an interview, while the distant attitude of the recruiter, the too long interview or the fact they cannot get the information they want create frustrations to 15% of candidates.   So, people with zero experience think they deserve  a salary of 2,500- 3,000 lei per month, higher than those who already have experience in the labor market and think they are entitled to 2,000-2,500 lei per month.   The study was made over October 18- November 5, 2021, on a sample of over 1,213 respondents aged between 18 and 55.   Over 33,784 jobs for Romania and abroad are now available on www.ejobs.ro. Launched in 1999, eJobs is the first recruiting platform in Romania and the leader of the local market. As of 2012, it has been part of Ringier AG, the international media company based in Zurich. The 4.6 million resumes and over 1.3 million monthly applications is the largest basis of active candidates in Romania. More than 2 million users apply for the services of eJobs.ro every month and 7,000 C.V.s are updated daily.
