Survey: Managers want flexible and hybrid work schedules, non-executives favor four-day work week

September 28, 2023

Managers want flexible and hybrid work schedules, while non-executive employees would opt for a four-day work week, found a survey conducted by PR agency MSL The Practice and recruitment platform eJobs."Regardless of the industry they operate in, the majority of the interviewed employees (58 pct) would prefer a hybrid work schedule, with a higher percentage of non-managerial employees opting for work from home. In addition, most employees declare that they want flexibility from the employer regarding the start and end time of the work schedule, with over a third of the respondents opting for this possibility," the survey shows. Also, managers are more interested than other employee categories in having a work schedule based on tasks and not on fixed hours. As regards the increasingly circulated option of companies switching to a four-day work week, this is more attractive for non-managerial employees and blue-collar workers. For 42 percent of the respondents, one of next year's goals is to find a new job in another company. To a much higher extent than in other activities, medical & pharma employees report the possibility of improvement through training and development programs (28 percent of the respondents) or the possibility of improvement through reskilling and upskilling (19 percent of the respondents) as a major reason for choosing a certain employer.Launched in 1999, eJobs is the first recruitment platform in Romania and the leader of the local market. With 4.9 million CVs, over 2 million unique visitors per month and 300,000 companies to have used its services, eJobs is the largest local recruitment platform.
