Over 57% of Romanians use Internet Banking / Mobile Banking services to make transactions, and of these, 33% pay online services on a regular basis, weekly or even more often, according to a survey conducted by CEC Bank in partnership with the banking comparator FinZoom.ro.According to the bank, another 24.5% use these services only occasionally, less often than once a month.The survey shows that over 63% of respondents used their bank card to make a payment for online shopping, and over 47% of respondents constantly use the card or a bank account to pay monthly bills.According to the survey, 27% only sometimes use the card or a bank account to pay monthly bills, while 26% pay utility bills only in cash.Payment at physical stores is made both with cash and by card by most Romanians (about 40%), while almost the same share (37.5%) use cash only. About 23% of respondents pay by card alone.On the other hand, over 38% of respondents say that they use Google Pay / Apple Wallet for purchases in stores directly with their phone, up from previous years.The survey was conducted online, by the financial comparator FinZoom, commissioned by CEC Bank, on a representative sample of about 1,200 respondents from all over the country, representative of internet users. 58% of the respondents are gainfully employed, over 70% live in the city, 40% have higher or postgraduate studies.CEC Bank is the financial institution with the longest tradition in Romania.
