Symmetrica Nears Completion of New Factory in Bolintin Vale, the Largest Paving Unit in Southeastern Europe

April 5, 2025

Symmetrica, the leading local producer of vibropressed pavers and curbs and the largest Romanian manufacturer in its sector, is entering the final phase of construction for its new factory in Bolintin Vale (Giurgiu County). This facility will be the largest concrete paving and slab production unit in both the company’s network and the Southeastern European region. Developed with an investment of nearly €50 million, the factory currently has three out of its four production lines operational and is expected to be fully functional by the summer of this year.

Once the final production line is installed, the new 18,000 sqm facility will reach a daily output capacity of 15,000 sqm, leading to a 30% increase in Symmetrica’s total production capacity.

“The Bolintin Vale project involved integrating cutting-edge, high-performance equipment to support both efficiency and the development of our premium product lines. We are now in the final stage of this process—the first three lines are already operational, and once the fourth line is installed this summer, the facility will be fully operational. This will significantly contribute to strengthening Symmetrica’s presence in the local and regional markets,” stated Sebastian Bobu, Executive Director of Symmetrica.

In addition to its four highly technological production lines, the factory will also include equipment for special treatments, surface processing, and concrete block splitting. The facility’s energy efficiency will be supported by two photovoltaic parks, which will provide approximately 60% of the necessary energy consumption, reinforcing Symmetrica’s sustainability goals.

The development of the Bolintin Vale factory involves a total investment of approximately €50 million, funded through a combination of own resources and bank financing.

In the fall of 2023, the Suceava-based manufacturer launched a new line of premium collections under the Symmetrica Select brand—an important step in expanding its product portfolio and strengthening its presence in the residential market segment.

“Despite challenges in the residential sector, we’re seeing a clear trend toward higher-quality products, with consumers increasingly valuing durability, aesthetics, and innovation. This shift gives us a strong foundation for growing our premium product range, and we remain optimistic about the demand for Symmetrica Select collections. We believe this preference for premium solutions will continue to grow, even in a more challenging economic climate,” added the Executive Director of Symmetrica.

With over 30 years of presence on the Romanian market, Symmetrica has established itself as the leader in the production of concrete pavers and prefabricated elements through a strategy of steady development and continuous investment in production capacity expansion. The company currently owns nine factories dedicated to pavers and concrete prefabricates, as well as one unit specialized in industrial equipment—supported by investments totaling more than €135 million.

Last year, the company reported a turnover of 317 million lei (approx. €63.7 million), representing a 22% increase compared to 2023.
