Telecom. IT : ANCOM : We hope to organise the bid for 5G in September - October

The National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) hopes to organize the bid for 5G in September – October, stated Vlad Stoica, chairman of the institution, during the Cybersecurity Forum, organized by Financial Intelligence.‘As you know, we are having discussion for the organisation of the 5G bid. We hope to have it in September – October. We cannot organize it without the Code of communications, which, unfortunately, is now at the Constitutional Court. We hope that at the beginning of May a decision may be taken and we go further’ he said.After the finalisation of the Code of  communications ANCOM needs 5 or 6 months to organize the bid in transparency, so that all conditions of opportunity and efficiency be met.‘So, everybody will be satisfied, both operators and citizens’ said the ANCOM official.Asked if there are higher risks as regards the security of the communications networks, in the context of the war in Ukraine, he said:’ there are not more than before. We don’t have vulnerabilities at the present moment in the domain of communications, I am referring to the network strictly’.
