Tesla opens its Supercharger network to other electric vehicles in Romania

January 11, 2024

Since November 2021, Tesla has started to open its Supercharger network to other electric vehicles in support of our mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Today, Tesla is announcing that 5 stations and 32 individual Superchargers are opening to non-Tesla EVs in Romania, making it one of the 2nd largest high-power-charging network of the country.    This expansion reinforces the Supercharger network’s top spot as the biggest fast charging network (> 150 kW) in Europe.     Access to an extensive, convenient and reliable fast-charging network is critical for large-scale EV adoption. That’s why, since opening our first Superchargers in 2012, we have been committed to rapid expansion of the network. Today, we have more than 13,000 Superchargers in Europe and seven stations in Romania.   Pricing for non-Tesla drivers reflects additional costs incurred to support Supercharging a broad range of vehicles and adjustments to our sites to accommodate these vehicles. Rates vary by site, and you can view prices in the Tesla app. The per kWh price to charge can be lowered with a Supercharging Membership. Tesla drivers can continue to use these stations as they always have.
