Tesla Opens Largest Showroom in Eastern Europe in Romania

October 9, 2024

Tesla has opened its largest showroom in Eastern Europe, located in Romania, marking a significant milestone in the automaker’s expansion across the region, https://driveteslacanada.ca/ informs.   The new showroom, Tesla Center Pipera, is already open and serving customers, but is scheduled to host a grand opening party on September 12. It is location on Bucuresti Nord Road in Voluntari, a suburb of the capital, Bucharest.    The new location is strategically placed alongside other luxury car showrooms, such as Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, and Jeep, further highlighting the brand’s image and appeal in the country.   Tesla’s growth in Romania has been remarkable since it first entered the market in May 2021. The company’s decision to open a flagship store in Bucharest was needed as the demand for electric vehicles in Romania has been rapidly increasing.   The Tesla Center Bucharest Splaiul Unirii, which previously handled Tesla’s operations in the capital, will now see its activities relocated to the new, larger facility, which will see hundreds of cars delivered weekly.   Since 2021, Tesla has seen explosive growth in Romania, achieving an almost 13-fold increase in sales by 2023. Tesla has sold over 3,000 units annually, with the Model Y emerging as a clear favourite among Romanian buyers. In fact, more than 6,000 Teslas now drive on Romanian roads, with the Model 3 and Model Y accounting for the bulk of these sales.   Tesla’s expansion in Romania extends beyond showrooms. The company has installed multiple Supercharger stations in key cities such as Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, and Timisoara, among others.
