The activity of enterprises in industry, construction, trade and market services, in 2020 – provisional data

? 49.1% of the total active enterprises had as main activity market services ? The highest average number of employees was registered in the market services sector, representing 36.5% of total   Compared to 2019, the total number of enterprises increased by 2.9%, according to data released on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).   At the end of 2020, there were 61793 enterprises active in the industry sector, respectively 10.4% of total active enterprises of economic sectors (industry, construction, trade and market services). The highest share was held by active enterprises within the market services sector, respectively 49.1%.   In 2020, the average number of employees decreased by 2.7% compared to 2019. The highest share of the average number of employees (36.5%) is registred in enterprises from market services sector, followed by those from industry (31.6%). The average size of an industrial enterprise was around 21 employees, while in trade the average size was about 5 employees.   Regarding the turnover, the highest value was registered by enterprises having trade as main activity (41.1%), while construction enterprises recorded only 7.9% of the total turnover.   The structure of gross value added at factor cost by sectors in 2020, was as follows: 35.5% in market services, 31.4% in industry, 23.7% in trade and 9.4% in construction.   The structure of gross investments by economic activity sectorsisthe following: market services 37.3%, industry 32.5%, construction 16.4% and trade 13.8%.   The gross result registered positive values (profit) for all those four economic activity sectors, market services and trade accounting over 60% of gross result.
