The ministry of national defence, Angel Tilvar met, on the margin of the Security Conference in Munich with his counterpart from Albania, Pirro Vengu and Bulgaria, Atanas Zaprianov, the discussions aiming at the consolidation of regional cooperation in the domain of defence and military mobility.‘One of the key subjects approached during the talks was Pan European Corridor VIII on Military Mobility, a strategic project where Romania takes place together with Albania, Bulgaria, Italy and North Macedonia. Minister Tilvar reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to facilitate the quick transit of military forces and equipment in South-Eastern Europe, underlying the importance of reduction of bureaucratic barriers and harmonization of critical infrastructure’ shows the press release of MApN sent on Sunday.According to the minister, besides Corridor VIII, our country joined another two similar initiatives – together with Bulgaria and Greece, namely with Turkey and Bulgaria. These initiatives contribute to the enhancing NATO’s rapid reaction capability and strengthening collective security in Europe. The ministers also discussed about the importance of the consolidation of NATO position of deterrence and defence in the Black Sea region.
