Romania and the Republic of Moldova will collaborate for accessing and putting to value the European funds destined to infrastructure, once in Kishinev was signed a joint statement which establishes the framework for bilateral cooperation, informs a press conference of the ministry of infrastructure and regional development of the Republic of Moldova. The document was signed by the vice-prime-minister, Vladimir Bolea and the Romanian minister for Investments and European Projects, Dragos-Nicolae Pislaru.According to the quoted source, through this collaboration the two states mean to develop common strategic projects, to support the process of European integration of the Republic of Moldova and to capitalize on the opportunities offered by the European funds, with a special focus on the modernization of the infrastructure.Dragos Pislaru also emphasised that the Declaration signed on Wednesday confirms Romania's commitment to support the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union. A bilateral working group will be created on the basis of the Declaration, which will coordinate the implementation of the commitments and will organise training and exchange sessions. Also, Romania will provide technical support in adapting Moldovan legislation to European standards and in developing programs for the shared management of EU funds. The joint priorities of the partnership include the modernisation of railways, the rehabilitation and construction of new bridges across the Prut, the digitisation of public services, trade facilitation and investment for access to drinking water in cross-border areas. These projects aim to increase the quality of life and stimulate regional development in both countries.
