The US Department of Commerce announces an economic mission to Bucharest, organized with the support of CCIR

November 15, 2023

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban and the general secretary of CCIR, Mr. Ovidiu Silaghi, participated on October 13, a.c. at an official meeting with the director of the Office for Central and Southeastern Europe of the Department of Commerce of the United States of America (USA), Ms. Doreen Parekh, CCIR informs.   During this meeting, topics were addressed regarding the commercial cooperation between the two states, on the one hand, and the collaboration between the CCIR and the US Department of Commerce, on the other hand, in the development of the economic component of the bilateral strategic partnership.   “CCIR has a close collaborative relationship with the Commercial Service of the US Embassy in Bucharest and, implicitly, with the US Department of Commerce, developing over time a series of joint projects in support of the Romanian business community. Select USA, the program intended for Romanian companies interested in expanding their operations on the American market, is just one of the examples, and the fact that Romania had an absolutely impressive presence at the previous Select USA Investment Summit is the result of this joint effort. Our mission is to support the internationalization of Romanian business and to move to the stage of exporting services. I want to assure the US Department of Commerce of all CCIR’s support in the development of joint projects, support that we will provide unconditionally as before”, said the president of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.   “CCIR has proven over time its relevance in terms of supporting American companies interested in developing large projects in Romania, and the US Department of Commerce considers your organization a true partner of American businessmen. In this sense, in November of this year we want to organize, together with the CCIR, an economic mission in Bucharest in which more than 20 companies from the USA, interested in investing in Romania, will participate. CCIR has all the resources to make this event a success for entrepreneurs from both countries,” said the director of the Office for Central and Southeastern Europe of the Department of Commerce of the United States of America (USA), Ms. Doreen Parekh.    (Photo:https://ccir.ro/)
