The value of agricultural production in 2023 - semi-final data

• In 2023, the agricultural production value increased by 0.6% compared to the previous year. • The crop production and agricultural services increased by 2.1% respectively 0.4%, while the animal production decreased by 2.5%.     According to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published on Monday, in 2023, the structure of the agricultural production value presented slight variations compared to the previous year. The share of crop production was 60.3%, lower by 5.3 percentage points than the previous year; the share of animal production was 37.0%, higher by 5.2 percentage points than the previous year. The agricultural services had a share of 2.7%.   The structure of the crop production value in 2023, by main crop groups, shows the following differences compared to the previous year: - increases in the production value shares were registered for: vegetables and melons (+2.0 percentage points), fruit and grapes (+1.3 percentage points), potatoes (+0.6 percentage points) and fodder plants (+0.2 percentage points); - decreases in the production value shares were registered for: cereals (-2.2 percentage points), oilseed crops (-1.3 percentage points) and other product groups (-0.6 percentage points).   The structure of the animal production value in 2023, by main species and product groups, shows the following differences compared to the previous year: - increases in the production value shares were registered for: products obtained by processing milk in the animal farm (+2.8 percentage points) and poultry (+0.9 percentage points); - decreases in the production value shares were registered for: sheep and goats (-2.2 percentage points), cattle (-1.2 percentage points), other product groups (-0.2 percentage points) and pigs (-0.1 percentage points).
