Total revenues from postal services top 4.6 billion RON in 2022

 Total revenues from postal services topped 4.6 billion RON in 2022, 11 percent more than in 2021, with parcel traffic accounting for about 81 percent thereof, the National Communications Administration and Regulation Authority (ANCOM) informs.By revenues from postal services obtained in 2022, the main competitors on the Romanian relevant market are Fan Courier, with a market share of 23.8 percent, the National Post Company (14.7 percent), Sameday (13.8 percent), and Cargus (9 percent), shows the 2022 Report on the Romanian postal services market.Investments in the postal services market amounted to 360 million RON in 2022, respectively 8 percent of the actors' annual revenues, up by almost 30 percent compared to the previous year."Support for the parcel traffic was the main driver of investments, materialized in the increase by nearly 80 percent in the number of automatic parcel delivery systems, to almost 4,500," the ANCOM said.The traffic of parcels and packets increased in 2022 by 6 percent to 232 million shipments, i.e. 12 items/inhabitant. The lower increase in traffic compared to previous years was compensated by the faster rise in revenues from parcel deliveries (+13 percent) to 3.8 billion RON. The average revenue per parcel was over 16 RON (13 RON in the case of domestic parcels).There are currently 10 suppliers that make deliveries through automatic systems (easybox, parcel locker etc.), ensuring the delivery of 1 in 7 domestic parcels. Almost 9 out of 10 domestic parcels were delivered within 1 day of entering the postal network, with the average standing at 1.2 days.Revenues from international parcels stood at 1 billion RON in 2022, and the top 3 provides by the number of deliveries are Delivery Solutions - Sameday (28 percent), Fan Courier (26 percent) and Cargus (13 percent).As far as mail and print services are concerned, revenues increased last year by 7 percent to almost 0.8 billion RON, although traffic was 9 percent down to 303 million shipments. The average income per delivery increased to 2.6 RON (+17 percent). On average, domestic mail and printed items were delivered in 2.7 days.By the number of shipments, the most important service providers are the National Post Company (52 percent) and Pink Post (41 percent).ANCOM released on Thursday on the institution's website the full report on the Romanian postal services market in 2022.
