Trade Register Office: 309 companies running on foreign capital set up in January 2025

A number of 309 companies running on foreign capital were established in Romania in January 2025, down 15.76% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data centralized by the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).The 309 new companies had a subscribed share capital totaling 301,700 US dollars, down 89.8% compared to the subscribed capital of companies registered in January 2024, of 2.958 US million dollars.Depending on the fields of activity, most registrations were recorded in wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair (36.25% of the total), professional, administrative, scientific and technical activities (11% of the total) and real estate transactions (10.03%).At the end of January 2025, there were 257,619 companies running on Foreign capital in Romania. The value of the subscribed capital was 71.405 billion US dollars.The largest number of companies running on Foreign capital had investors from Italy, respectively 53,788 (subscribed capital of almost 3.642 billion US dollars), but the highest value of the share capital belongs to Dutch companies, respectively 13.155 billion US dollars, invested in 6,223 companies.
