The first commercial exchanges of electricity with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, after the synchronisation with the European network will be made starting with 30th June, on the interconnection with Romania, a press release of Transelectrica says.The Transport and System operators (OTS) in Continental Europe confirmed the fact that the preliminary technical conditions were met to allow commercial exchanges of electricity between Ukraine and the neighbouring states. This process comes after the synchronisation of the electro-energy systems made on 16th March 2022, and accession of Ukrenergo as observer member of ENTSO-E on 26th April 2022.These achievements were obtained due to the efforts of the OTS in Europe, especially Ukrenergo and other operators in the neighbouring states. Commercial exchanges of electricity with Ukraine/the Republic of Moldova are planned to start on 30th June 2022 on the interconnection between Ukraine and Romania.Transelectrica is the operator of the electricity transport and system network in Romania which functions interconnected with the European electro-energy system through the interconnections with the neighbouring countries:Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. At present, the network managed by Transelectrica has a trans-borderly capacity of 3000 MW, to reach the value of 7000 MW in 2030.
