The Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Bucharest, Vladimir Lipaev, was summoned on Friday to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) for discussions about the drone that entered Romania's airspace on November 10.According to the MAE, he was presented with "tangible, ample and solid evidence of the violation of Romanian airspace by an unmanned aerial vehicle of the Russian military forces, during the night of November 10 to 11".The fragments recovered by the Romanian authorities from the site of the crash of the aerial vehicle undoubtedly prove its belonging and involvement in the massive attacks that night against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure located in the vicinity of the border with Romania, the ministry informs.According to the cited source, the Romanian side expressed, during the summoning of the ambassador of the Russian Federation, its firm protest against this unacceptable and irresponsible act, which represents a violation of Romania's sovereignty. Also, the representatives of the MAE drew attention to the repetition of these situations, which constitute particularly serious risks for the safety of Romanian citizens, as well as for the security of Romania and the region. The MAE once again firmly condemned the illegal and irresponsible attacks against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure in the vicinity of the border with Romania and recalled the exclusive responsibility of the Russian Federation for the ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine. At the same time, it was mentioned that Romania has the right to take the necessary legal measures to protect its citizens and territory, including through the full range of political instruments, including sanctions."Despite the irresponsible and illegal action of the Russian Federation, at no time were Romanian citizens in the overflown area in direct and imminent danger. Romania and its allies have the capabilities and framework for action to manage any risk situation. Romania is in permanent contact with its allies and other EU members on these issues", the MAE also points out.
