The United States Embassy in Romania expresses its gratitude to ambassador Kathleen Kavalec, who is retiring from her diplomatic career, and informs that deputy chief of the mission in Romania, Michael Dickerson, will serve as charge d'affaires ad interim."We express our gratitude to US ambassador to Romania, Kathleen Kavalec, who is retiring after a distinguished career in the United States diplomatic service. Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec has fulfilled her mission with dedication, strengthening the existing partnership between the United States and Romania. We thank her for her leadership and commitment to shared democratic values," the US Embassy said in a message posted on the diplomatic mission's Facebook page.The embassy informs that, during this transition, deputy chief of mission Michael Dickerson will serve as charge d'affaires ad interim."With his in-depth knowledge of Romania and our bilateral priorities, career diplomat Michael Dickerson will continue to promote our close and enduring relations," the source added.Kathleen Kavalec began her term in Romania in February 2023.
