Ukraine and Poland have clearly expressed their interest in cooperating with Romania in the defence industry during the Ukraine Recovery Conference, held in Gdansk from June 25 to 26.According to a press release issued by the company, ROMARM, Romania's leading producer and direct exporter of military equipment, weapons and ammunition, participated in the conference with its own exhibition stand. The company showcased its portfolio of products and services for the defence industry, including solutions for demilitarisation activities, and held a series of meetings with representatives of the authorities and business communities from Poland and Ukraine."ROMARM presented its product portfolio and also put forward proposals for demilitarisation. Ukraine and Poland are the countries that have clearly expressed an interest in cooperating with Romania in the defence industry. ROMARM's presence at the event with its own stand confirms the level of commitment shown by Romania's national defence industry to the development of shared defence capabilities and cooperation with NATO allies," Pircalabescu said, as quoted in the press release.He also highlighted the growing importance of dual-use technologies, expressing the view that over the next five years they will become essential to the development of European industrial capabilities in light of current security challenges. "These are technologies designed primarily for civilian purposes but which can also be repurposed or adapted for defence, national security or military applications," the press release said.During the meeting in Poland, the management of the Romanian company also promoted the position of the member companies of the Employers' Organisation of the Defence Industry, advocating the development of long-term partnerships and the identification of new opportunities for cooperation in production, modernisation and the development of industrial capabilities.The conference in Gdansk was held alongside the Eastern Flank Summit, a meeting dedicated to strengthening regional security and cooperation among NATO's eastern flank member states.
