October 14, 2021

President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen is expected in Bucharest on 24th September on a symbolic visit, to mark the approval of the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PNRR), say governmental sources for News.ro.   The head of EC has on her agenda several joint events with premier Florin Citu, among which a visit to the Universitar Hospital Bucuresti which will benefit from funds through PNRR, the quoted sources say.   The analysts said that the approval of PNRR will be marked one day before by the Liberal party (PNL -at rule) Congress where Florin Citu and Ludovic Orban fight for the PNL presidency   PNRR was sent to Brussels and negociated by the former minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, proposed by the alliance USR-PLUS in the governing coalition. But, due to the fact that the ministers USR PLUS left the government, the Ministry of European Funds was taken over interim by premier Florin Citu.   Ursula von der Leyen was supported by the European People’s Party for the leadership of the European Commission.
