US Embassy: Romania hosts a NATO multinational exercise for the improvement of the collective defence in Eastern Europe

Members of the armed forces in Romania, the Republic of Moldova and the US will have a NATO multi-national exercise for the improvement of the collective defence in Eastern Europe,informs a press release of the US Embassy in Bucharest. Accordingto the quoted source, theMarines and the mariners of the combined arms company and the Black Sea Rotational Force will take part in the Platinum Lynx 16-2 exercise in Smardan,starting on Monday. ‘Forthis exercise,the Combined Arms Company will transport tanks,artillery and other heavy equipment on railroad in Bulgaria,where they will support the mechanised integration,breach techniques,tactics for landed shootings,indirect shooting with the purpose of improving the fighting capacity in joined operations, the anti-tank tactics and other essential fighting abilities’the American Embassy in Romania announces. The participants will host on Friday the Day of the distinguished visitors and journalists ‘ for an exercise with firing with combinedarms including tanks,artillery and air support’. The company of combined arms,stationed in Bulgaria came in August ‘ to support the allies and the NATO partners in the region and to bring a segment of mechanised abilities to the multi-national exercises’. The company is an additional unit of the Black Sea Rotational Force,a semi-annual rotation of the Marine and the Mariners sent to Romania, to answer to a varied series of military operations in the area of responsibility of the European Command of the US,the quoted source says.
