Veolia Romania to manage water and sewage at Henri Coanda Airport, Bucharest for five years

February 15, 2024

Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions (VRSI), a member company of Veolia Romania and provider of operation, maintenance, and management services for water, sewerage and thermal energy systems, will operate the water supply and sewerage systems on the platform of “Henri Coanda” Bucharest International Airport for another five years, following the winning of the tender organized by the National Airports Company of Bucharest (CNAB).   Under the contract, VRSI will continue to provide complete services, including operation and supply, technical maintenance with full warranty, technical support and management, and administration of waterborne systems, from January 2024. Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions will also manage the accidental repairs of all the water-channel equipment and installations of the “Henri Coanda” Bucharest International Airport.   The extension of this five-year partnership confirms the outstanding performance of Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions, which took over the operation and maintenance of the water supply and sewage facilities on the platform of the “Henri Coanda” International Airport in Bucharest in 2008. With significant experience and performance in the field, VRSI provides essential services, including efficient management of water resources, implementation of operational measures to remedy faults and breakdowns, and procurement and management of materials required to operate water and sewerage systems. Veolia Romania Integrated Solutions manages an extensive 54,000-metre water distribution system and annually extracts 700,000 cubic meters of water through boreholes. In contrast, the sewerage network, with a total length of 71,000 meters, contributes significantly to the optimal operation of the Airport.   “We are honored to continue and develop our partnership with Henri Coanda International Airport Bucharest. Beyond numbers and contracts, this extension of our collaboration is a validation of our continued dedication to excellence, our commitment to delivering superior service, and a recognition of our efforts and ability to provide sustainable integrated solutions to the complex needs of such an important infrastructure. We are proud to continue supporting the most important Airport in our country and contributing to passenger comfort and safety. The reconfirmation of the trust placed in our team is an additional motivation to continue to bring innovation to water and sewage systems management,” said Madalin Mihailovici, CEO of Veolia Romania.   Henri Coanda” International Airport Bucharest is the most important Airport in Romania, with an annual transit of over 15 million people.    “The continuation of this collaboration, based on mutual respect and quality of services offered by the provider, is a confirmation of the constant efforts made by the National Company Bucharest Airports to provide services at high-performance standards to all customers using Romania’s main air gateway, Henri Coanda International Airport,” said Sorin Radu Paun, General Manager of Bucharest Airports Company.
