Virgil Popescu, working meeting with representatives of the government in Azerbaijan as well as the SOCAR leadership

The minister of energy, Virgil Popescu announced that he had a working meeting with several representatives of the government in Azerbaijan, as well as with the SOCAR leadership. There were also representatives of other companies in the domain of energy, both from Romania and Azerbaijan.   The meeting was attended by Rovnaq Abdulalayev – deputy minister of the ministry of economy, Elnur Soltanov – deputy minister of the ministry of energy, Elshad Nassiro – vice chairman SOCAR, Vitali Baylarbayov – deputy vice chairman SOCAR, Vugar Shahmuradov – vice chairman ‘AzerEnergy’ OJSC, Fuad Ahmedov, executive manager SOCAR Midstream Operation, Farid Sadikov – deputy head of the Administrative Department SOCAR, Afgan Isayev – general manager of CJSC ‘The south gas corridor’, Hamza Karimov, CEO SOCAR Petroleum, Ramil Asudulzade – CFO SOCAR Petroleum and H.E.Dr. Huseyn N.Najafov – the ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Bucharest.   On the part of the Romanian state participated Ion Sterian – general manager Transgaz, Aristotel Jude – general manager Romgaz and Razvan Popescu – economic manager Romgaz.   Romania analyses all possibilities for supply with gas, either natural liquefied gas, Azer gas or gas from other sources, American, Quatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates stated on 7th March, the minister of energy, Virgil Popescu who made sure that there will be no problem with the supply with natural gas during the winter of 2022 – 2023.
